STUDEM youth Center Balti is seeking a youth-leader/intern for three months in the fall of 2020. It is possible to receive merits and ECTS points for the stay. Our only requirements are that you are above 18 years of age, have Danish residency, are a Silba member, and have a lot of motivation.
About STUDEM youth center Balti:
STUDEM is a project initiated by CREEDD Silba in 2015. The project aims to strengthen the voice of youngsters in local communities in Moldova. In 2019 Silba kickstarted the second part of the project by establishing a youth center in the city of Balti. The center is a physical space for youngsters to plan and implement activities and projects initiated for youth and by youth. The center will be run by a board of 13 on a solely voluntary basis.
At the beginning of 2020, the board will manage three projects:
1) STUDEM – Step Up for Democracy: youth councils in local schools,
2) Debate club - a debate club
3) Political School - a non-partisan political school, educating youngsters in local political topics and systems.
In the long run, the aim is to use the youth-center as a platform for political advocacy platform for young people’s interests in society.

Being a youth-leader in STUDEM youth center:
The Danish youth-leader will be working closely with a Moldovan youth-leader, solving the tasks in cooperation. The overall responsibility of the youth-leaders will be to monitor and supervise the establishment of the youth-center in Balti Moldova for their constitutional months. Partly, the role of the youth-leader will be to support the center’s board and administrative work, mainly the tasks are independent of the board since we value the long-term sustainability of the board.
The main tasks consist of all or some the following (depending on applicant);
Making an analysis of the current state of the youth.
Connecting the strategy of the board to the reel needs of the youth in society
Developing and approving the official documents of the development strategy
To develop an advocacy strategy for the center.
Mapping main areas of interest based on local analysis,
producing the official reports and needs-based proposals for local decision-makers.
Creating a tool-kit for advocating youth needs
Assisting the board in their discussions on how to handle the values of; anti-discrimination in terms of social class, gender, religion, political affiliation, and sexuality.
Since STUDEM is a youth-based initiative where learning and youth needs are prioritized, the project group expects to have an open discussion about the abovementioned tasks and the interests of the applicant. The division of working hours will be as follows:
60 % dedicated to advocacy and development
40 % dedicated to the youth leader’s specific preferences and own initiatives.
